Dear Minnesota lawmaker,
When Minnesota students go hungry – struggling to focus, too distracted to learn – everyone pays the price.
Please invest in breakfast and lunch for all students. When everyone had access to school meals the past two years, we saw the difference it made – higher school meal participation, better classroom performance, and no stigma. Students were able to learn and thrive. But today, 1 in 4 food-insecure kids in Minnesota comes from a household that doesn't qualify for free or reduced-cost school meals.
By supporting Hunger Free Schools, we can permanently eliminate hunger in Minnesota classrooms, remove the stigma of food insecurity, and reduce the strain of paperwork for schools and families. Together we can push hunger off the table.
